The Lamp Testing at Night:To help our customers visually appreciate the differences between LED lights and metal halide lamps, we conducted a real-life nighttime lighting test to clearly demonstrate the distinctions. This allows our customers to easily observe the contrast for themselves.
In this test, two lighting systems were evaluated under the same nighttime conditions: a 4×350W LED lamp configuration (RP-350-COB) and a 4×1000W metal halide lamp configuration (RP-1000-MHL). Both setups were installed at similar heights and angles to ensure a fair and comparable observation.
The test results show clear differences in light distribution and illumination characteristics. The 350W LED lamps produce a more concentrated and directional beam, allowing light to reach farther with a clearly defined illuminated area. The ground objects and pathways appear sharper within the effective lighting zone, making the illuminated boundary more distinct.
In contrast, the 1000W metal halide lamps generate a broader and more diffused light pattern. The illumination spreads over a wider area, but with less focus. According to the test observation, the primary effective illumination range is approximately 50 meters in front of the lamp, with light intensity gradually decreasing beyond that distance.
This nighttime comparison highlights the practical differences in beam focus, coverage, and light dispersion between LED and metal halide technologies, providing a visual reference for understanding how different lighting solutions perform in real-world outdoor environments.
